Thank you to everyone that showed up to support at the "Break Bread" CD release party. It was a huge success and I was encouraged to see how the Pittsburgh body can pull together.
As some of you may know, God put it on my heart to really use 2009 as a year to establish unity in the body of Christ (the church) here in the greater Pittsburgh area. As a result I, along with some fellow co-laborers, agreed that we needed to meet on a monthly basis to share in our walk, which is difficult most days, and also share our schedules (hip hop/rap shows, events, etc.) so that we could support one another's ministries and be encouragement to one another.
While not perfect, the meetings happened almost monthly, providing a forum to discuss how to reach a broader audience with this music we call "Christian Rap", "Holy Hip Hop", or "Gospel Rap".
The idea of a compilation CD, as well as some other ideas, were thrown around the table. It took some time to iron out the kinks but we finally concluded that it would be adventagious to not only do that, but make it free. Now recording a whole CD, not to mention one collaborated on by over 24 artists is no small task, nor is it cheap.
It took some tweaking, but we found a way to make it happen.
Now that you have the background, I would like to thank those of you who sowed into this project to make it happen. I really hope it can be a blessing to all of you as well as those who that hear it.
